Apr Week 5 → Studio Consultation
Screenprinting Consultation with Gerard 30.04.2026
This studio consultation was with Gerard, we reviewed on the dry-transfer prints we made yesterday.
The first two tests did not work well. The ink did not come off completely as expected. However, the results still look visually good. Instead of discarding them, these prints will be kept as part of the process, showing failure and material behaviour.
Gerard suggested to switch to textile ink, as it may transfer better in this case.
BOTH the newly produced and older versions should be tested. The idea is to compare the results and see which performs better under the same conditions.
It is important to note down which ink and glue I used for each test. Writing the info directly on the paper with a pencil. Since this stage is still testing, it might not be necessary to pay for these materials yet.
Gerard is out of town next week! So, I have to do the experiment by myself, fingers crossed.
