Feb Week 4 → Coaching

Feedback with Sander 24.02.2026

This coaching session on 24 February with Sander was mainly a check-in, as no new visual progress of my Masterproject had been produced at the moment. The discussion focused on the internship experience and a review of feedback from Plenum 2.

During the internship, participation in the D&AD Awards competition was discussed. The selected brief, developed in collaboration between Penguin Random House and Monotype, was identified as highly commercial and oriented towards pitching. This context was considered quite different from the current project, but also valuable, as it introduces a contrasting perspective.

Then we did feedback (review) from Plenum 2:

After Plenum 2, besides constructive feedback — such as the choice of approach (form/content, visual communication/pure form... etc.), and how to connect that chosen approach closely with my project concept — the coaches raised a question that encourages me to think further: "Imagine you are already graduated, and have this semester for pure experimental pleasure. What would you be creating then?" — a bit like "dance like nobody's watching."

I think in my design experience I've been designing with one eye on how things should look in a final presentation. This question pushed me to ask what I actually want to make, without the pressure of it being correct. :)
