Feedback with Sander 05.05.2026
This session focused on reviewing the latest developments/progress: the dry-transfer prints, the postcard, and documentation for the online exhibition.
The feedback was rather positive. The prints look real and professional, and are also visually strong. Sander told me not to worry too much about whether they “work perfectly/successfully” or not. At this stage, they function as a prototype within a student project. If they work, that’s great. If not, they still add much value to the project. The form and the idea behind them are more important than technical perfection. (Do not put too much pressure on its functionality.)
Regarding the required postkaart, Sander and the other students all preferred the first version (case closed/in progress/dismissed). It itself was seen as having more narrative and context, and it attracts attention more easily. The visual language is also different from the posters I will show, which is a good thing. It adds variation to the display and makes the presentation more engaging.

We also discussed required images/texts for the online exhibition. Scanning is acceptable, but not always the best way to represent analogue/manual works. It was suggested that I could try to photograph the prints in my work environment, such as on my desk, on a cutting board, or on a metallic surface. This might be better reflect the project's process and context.
If scanning is still needed, a specific method was suggested by Sander and Elke, Isa: keep the scanner lid open to create a full black edge or background. Since my posters are mostly white, this contrast would work better on a white-background website.
