May Week 4 → Scenography Prep
Clothes Rack and Hangers
The matte black clothes rack and the silver metal hangers were ordered in early May. They both arrived this week, so I brought everything home and assembled the rack to test how the props would look together.
The rack was simple to put together. Once it stood up, the proportions matched the mockup I had submitted as proposal 2 in April. The matte black finish is even, with no glossy reflection — closer to the kind of utilitarian yet stylish object you would actually find in a design concept store than to a clean display fixture.
I clipped a few printed paper sheets onto the hangers and hung them on the rack to test the visual. The silver hangers contrast cleanly against the black rack, and the metallic finish picks up the same tone as the silver metal table I had used for the documentation photographs last week. The imperfect and industrial vibe is a good match for my posters.
The exhibition props are now ready. I also followed up with Hugo about borrowing the light-grey rectangular display from the school. He confirmed by email that it will be available on 8th June, once the current student assessments are over. Next step is to figure out how many posters to hang on the rack versus how many to lay flat on the desk, which depends on how much space is allocated in the final scenography layout.
